Roman house artefact

These small round-bowled spoons, which date back to the 1st century, were used in Roman homes or shops to measure out small quantities of valuable herbs and spices. They are hanging on the wall of a Roman kitchen that has been recreated in the Museum of London.

The Museum has an amazing collection of Roman artefacts. Click here to go to their website which has details of how you can visit.
